Because there are many procedures which must be carried out on patients in a veterinary facility which require more than one person to perform. Generally it is because an animal requires restraint for a procedure to be performed.
It is also because there are many tasks in a veterinary facility which do not require a degree in veterinary medicine to perform so rather than having a veterinarian perform these tasks and waste time that could be spent doing those things that only a veterinarian may do, they hire non-veterinarians to help out.
a vet is much like a doctor for humans. when YOU are ill or injured you need to be cared for. So, same goes for animals... Vets will cure animals, just as doctors cure humans, like yourself. i paln on becoming a vet as soon as i go to high school i will start learning :)
but, if your talking about an fighting vet... like a vetran, then they fight wars and stuff... but i dont get why we even fight wars... i think we should just sit down and talk it out and nogotiate or something instead of shooting people who have families. like...wooww, i dont get it! war is such a weird un-needed thing, you know??

The short answer is because veterinarians are heavily cross-trained in preparation for dealing with everything from behavioral inappropriate urination in a cat to hyperadrenocorticism in a dog to getting a broodmare pregnant to doing a necropsy (the animal version of autopsy) on a cow. Veterinarians are trained in how to evaluate disease and disorder in a variety of animal species based on comparative anatomy (ie, a hip in a dog is shaped very similarly to a hip in a cow, so Arthritis will look similar in both). Veterinarians are also trained in what animal diseases can be transmitted to humans, how to evaluate the spread of disease through a population, review scientific articles and publications, communicate with clients and the general public about animal-related issues and generally be the liason for society between animals and people.
vets are here to heal creatures and help them out
Vets are needed because well-intentioned, yet unknowledgeable, people can do more damage than repair to an animal in need of special care.
A veterinary assistant is a person who works with a vet and helps to provide medical care for animals but who does not meet the requirements to be a veterinarian or a veterinary technician.
