Canada has many lakes and rivers because much of Canada was under ice about 10,000 years ago, As the climate warmed and the glaciers retreated they created massive amounts of melt water that in some cases still flow today. This is in part why the Great Lakes have less water in them as time goes on. They were not created by rainwater but melt water which is slowly draining to the ocean.

We have a lot of Water because we are touching all of the oceans and have 5 great lakes. And because we don't pollute it like in America. Canada is the cleanest Country.
