It is not necessary that all hindus will consider all Gods and Goddesses are representation of any Supreme God. Perhaps some people think so, but they should not make this sound as the opinion of all hindus. And regarding Supreme God or Goddess, different hindus give this honor to different Gods. That is why we have 'vaishnavas' (worshipers of Lord Vishnu), 'shaivas (worshipers of Lord Shiva), and Shaktas (worshipers of Mother Goddess). I think, there is no shame attached to being a polytheist, as if the monotheists have some evidence that there is only one God in the world. There are monists and atheists also in Hinduism.
