Even though Betelgeuse is much larger, Rigel is brighter due to its much higher temperature. Rigel is about 11,000 K and Betelgeuse is only about 3,500 K.
Look to the southeast shortly after sunset. Orion is a diamond-shaped constellation marked by a brilliant red star on the left corner (Betelgeuse) and a brilliant white star in the right (Rigel). Between them is a line of three bright stars in a row close together. Orion represents the Hunter. With very little imagination you can see Orion with Betelgeuse as his left shoulder and Rigel as his right knee; the three stars in a row are his belt. His dog trails behind (below) him; Sirius, one of the brightest visible stars, is just rising.
Betelgeuse is one of the larger stars, while Barnard's star is just a little red dwarf star. So, yes- Betelgeuse is far larger than Barnard's.
I saw it last night. Betelgeuse is one of the brightest stars in the sky, you just need to know where to look and it's easy to see.
No. It is just the way some people pronounce it.
all stars shine, its just a matter or whether or not we can see them
Sirius, Rigel, Betelgeuse, Aldebaran, and Bellatrix to name a few. Most stars have boring names with a Greek letter and the constellation in which they are found, or just numbers and letters.
Assuming you just need random examples: the Sun, Rigel, Betelgeux, Sirius, Castor, Pollux, Polaris, Saiph, Alnitak, Mizar, Deneb, Mintaka, Aldebaran, etc.

The total eclipse of the Sun by the Earth's Moon still leaves a corona of light, and the other visible stars shine just as brightly.

The standard designations of stars within a constellation is a Greek letter followed by the Latin name of the constellation. This is called the "Bayer designation". In general - but not in EVERY case - the stars were lettered in order by brightness. Please remember that this was done a few hundred years ago, before the invention of detailed electronic instruments. And over the centuries, in a few cases the stars themselves have varied in brightness. For example, in the constellation of Orion, the star Betelgeuse is "Alpha Orionis", even though it is the SECOND-brightest star in Orion. Why the discrepancy? A couple of reasons, perhaps. Rigel, the brightest star in Orion, isn't all THAT much brighter; both are "first magnitude" stars. Second, Betelgeuse is known to be a variable star, and 300 years ago we believe that Betelgeuse was actually brighter than Rigel is.

If you shine white light through a prism, you always get the same result - a spectrum. However, if the environment is brightly lit, you may not see the spectrum as it will be too faint compared to the brightly lit background.

Let my light shine in the night time Let it shine all day through, Let it shine - shine for Jesus, May it shine, shine on you. I was walking along in the darkness, I didn't know which way to go, Then the Lord, He turned the light on, Changed my life, saved my soul. So my light shine in the night time Let it shine all day through, Let it shine - shine for Jesus, May it shine, shine on you. Now I live for just one purpose, Let the Lord shine through me, 'Cause if His love can shine on others, Then His Spirit will set 'em free. Just let my light shine in the night time Let it shine all day through, Let it shine - shine for Jesus, May it shine, shine on you.
No they are just close friends. They met from LET It Shine.
