I believe it is due to the pressure build up within the pipes once the water is turned off. I know they sell a product that you place in one of your pipes that serves as a buffer to stop the rattling.
You have water hammer. Call a plumber to fit a couple of vents or arrestors for this.
Check your muffler pipes.
could be air in the pipes. Makes a banging sound until the air is released. Look for a valve
if its a front wheel drive vehicle then it could be the axels
if front wheel drive perhaps cv axles.
I've never heard that in my house, but the pipes could be freezing or something.

That sound is a bad thing. it could be loose hardware.
The FIRST thing I'd check would be the CV joints. If that's not it, have a good "front end" specialist check it out.
It could be, however it could also be two of the following options. Try these before trying to establish whether its air in the pipes. Replace the jumper and washer, a rattling jumper can cause a tap to sound as if it is blowing like a fog horn. Secondly, check that all the pipes are secure, a rattling pipe somewhere can cause the same problem. Thirdly check the lines for air.
