You probably have a turn signal bulb with two filaments one for the turn signal and one for the brake light. If the ground connection is bad on the turn signal circuit then the current would need to find another path to ground. The only other one available is through the brake light filament to the ground on the center brake light. Try removing the taillight assemblies from the vehicle look for what is probably a black wire screwed to the body or a circuit connection and either tighten the screws a bit or clean the connections.
you have to pull the feed wire off the brake switch to supply power to the new third brake light. get a test light and test the wires on the brake switch....one is hot all the time the other one gets hot when you depress the pedal....that is the one you need. do not take it pull your power from the rear light it might have an intergrated turn signal wire. which would make your 3rd brake light blink.. ok.have fun! you have to pull the feed wire off the brake switch to supply power to the new third brake light. get a test light and test the wires on the brake switch....one is hot all the time the other one gets hot when you depress the pedal....that is the one you need. do not take it pull your power from the rear light it might have an intergrated turn signal wire. which would make your 3rd brake light blink.. ok.have fun!
Above the brake pedal. If your main brake lights dont work but your third center brake light does, then the brake light switch is not the problem. Its is the turn signal switch.
could be a problem with the sesor in the emergency brake. a bad connection there could cause the light to blink with the vibration of the car running On some cars, the brake warning light will blink if the parking brake is set, and you drive... it could be a failed parking brake switch, assuming the brake is not applied. It is supposed to blink to get your attention. One car that does this is the Mitsubishi Starion, there are probably some others, too.
most likely the rear brake light bulb has a broken wire which is shorting the circuit. change the bulb and it's fixed.
Worn brake pads can cause the brake light to blink on the dash in a 1993 GMC Sierra 1500. This can also be caused by a faulty light.
its a ground wire
Question: Does the turn signal blink on the right rear? I suspect not. Both the brake light and the turn signal use the same filament. If one is burnt out, the other will not work either. If so, the bulb needs replacing.
blubs blown? Check the turn signal switch.
The button on your dashboard
Check your bulb, In the rear of the Generation 4 Ford Taurus, they use a single Dual filament bulb for the marker, turn signal, and brake functions. Chances are your bulb is burnt out and needs replacement.
If you have the same bulb for brake and signal, brake light power needs to be interrupted by the signal lights, The brake circuit has to go through the signal light switch so the problem could be there.
If a turn signal does not blink on a 1996 Honda Accord that it is time for it to be changed. To change the bulb and locate the light housing and remove the older light. Replace the light.
