Flush and clean your heater radiator wich is located inside the car.
No that is incorrect. All you have to do is add antifreeze to your reservoir keep adding it till you get heat. You may have to let your car sit awhile on the on position. I know this is your problem because it works in the warmer weather. Unless your thermostat is stuck and the heater was just blowing air off your motor but I doubt that. Make sure you add enough antifreeze though. You never add when your vehicle is hot and if you add in radiator make sure car is on. If you have to much water in it to add antifreeze there is a screw under radiator to release water from radiator. GOODLUCK
the weather in Plymouth is very cold winters
The engine produces heat no matter the weather. The cooling system must have a problem such as a bad thermostat, bad fan clutch, plugged radiator, missing radiator shroud or low on coolant because of a leak somewhere.
Is the thermostat in backwards??? it depend on where u live hot or cold weather... german cars are made for cooler weather... this will efect the way ur car will run
Low coolant? Radiator plugged or restricted? Water pump not circulating coolant? Hoses collapsing? Thermostat not opening?
Its in Plymouth sheltering from the weather; its en-route to Liverpool...
Check if the thermostat is working properly. See if the top of the radiator is very hot when the motor starts to overheat, if it isn't hot then chuck out the thermostat or better still replace it.
Coolant capacity may not be sufficient--Was vehicle always in AZ. I brought a Pontiac there from east and have to replace radiator with a 7 core model
The weather and land were crappy.
Your problem is almost certainly a bad thermostat. If the thermostat remains open all the time the radiator fan stays on even in cold weather and the engine never warms up. A new thermostat is about ten bucks and usually easy to replace.
Condensation.
Yes you definitely need a thermostat to keep engine from overheating + or overcool,g especially in cold weather.
You didn't mention whether it's under the car, in the car? If it's under the car in the front then could be the radiator journal where the thermostat is, the plate where the oil filter is screwed on to, radiator leak, you didn't mention if there is coolant involved. If it's inside the car then door weather stripping, moon roof weather stripping or clogged moon roof drains on that side.
