The motor being warm has nothing to do with it. The exup valve adjusts the size of the exaust pipe depending on the throttle position and current preformance of the bike. This creats back flow and increases Hp.

What is meant by air to open valve?

An increase in air pressure to the actuator is required to cause the valve to open. This is called Air-to-Open Valve. Otherwise normally called Fail-Closed or Normally Closed Valve. An increase in air pressure to the actuator is required to cause the valve to close. This is called Air-to-Close Valve. Otherwise normally called Fail-Open or Normally Open Valve. Another way of looking at these definitions are: When air is given from the bottom of the diaphragm, the stem will go up and flow enters from the input and flows to the output. This is called Air-to-Open. When air is given from the top side of the diaphragm, the stem will go down and the stem will close the plug into the seat, meaning that the flow would be shut-off and the valve will be closed. Basically, you need air to either open or close the valve to allow your flow to proceed or shut.

How do you fix the sunroof in a 1988 Honda Accord LXI It opened but won't close you can hear the motor when you press open no sound when you press close?

It uses the same motor to open and close. Swap the relays under the hood. If that does not work then take the switch out and try swapping the leads for open and close to check the switch. If all else fails and its raining hard you can manually open and close it with a wrench above the center of the back seat, but you will have to remove your head liner. I have a bad motor currently and have to open and close it with a wrench.

What is valve springs?

There are valves in the head of the motor. They open to let in air and exhaust out. There is a spring around each one that keeps them closed until the camshaft forces the valve open. Edit: Another way to put it is that the valve spring's job is to close the valve once it's opened by the valve train. The stronger the spring, the quicker it closes the valve and the higher the RPM the engine can operate without 'floating' the valves. The tradeoff is that the stronger the spring, the harder it slams the valve against the seat, reducing each's useful lifetime.

When does a valve in the camshaft close?

valves open and close by raised lobes on the camshaft . they hit the connecting rod, which is connected to the rocker arm that open and closes a spring loaded or hydraulic valve lifters . the intake or exhaust valve is open when when the raised lobe hits the connecting rod. the valve closes when the cam shaft rotates and the connecting rod falls off raised lobe.
