Why doesn't pain medications work for you?

Narcotic pain medication does not work for me any longer because I have a extremely high tolerance as I have been using them daily for 290 years. I have a disease called Hidradenitis Suppurativa, I have had 160 plus surgical procedures, I have contracted hepatitis c, diabetis, I have no strength, I get confused,I have lost the use of my right arm, I had 2 strokes, been in several comas. I have been to the best hospitals in the USA, and the disease has just continued to spread. There is no cure and it is very painful. I have been thinking of suicide. I have no famoly that I speak to other than my mom, and she is 81, and she is also ill. I have 2 Shi-Tzu;s that are like my children. They offer me much more comfort than any Dr or medication. I do not want to die, I am only 47. i am scared of dying, because I don't know where a person who has never done anything in his life positive will go. I hope God will forgive me for a wasted life. I am so shy it is far from normal. I feel everyone is talking about me, I was afraid to talk to girls because I felt I was going to be made a fool of, so I guess I am paranoid also. My life is spent in bed. I cannot eat, I cannot use the bathroom like normal people. I do not have normal bowel movements, I have to use a glove and remove impacted waste about every 10-14 days. I told Dr.s about this and they dismiss it. That is very painful also. I feel I am being repaid for wasting my life. I have nothing to leave behind to show I ever lived. I am only comfortavble with my Shi-Tzu;s. I argue with my mother, I go out of my head and hallucinate. I do not take a lot of pain meds, I am in severe pain, but the pills do not work. God forgive for wasting the gifts you gave me. My illness is very real, it is a heriditary disease, and ny older sisters have it, but not nearly as bad as I do. The entire right side of my head has a active infection as I write this. I am hurting. I have a wound under my arm that has been open for 20 years, my groin is covered with painful lesions. I am a coward also. I do not fear death as much as I fear what may await me on the other side.I Pray God will Forgive me. I never stood in front of a Church, not because I am ashamed or embarrased by wanting to have God in my life, but my shyness is so bad, I cannot speak in public. Since my stroke or whatever I had that caused me to lapse into 2 comas I have difficulty speaking to anyone, I get flustered and I stutter and I forget what I am saying.

I have taken almost every pain medication we have. Morhine, Dilaudid, Fentanyl, Oxycodone, oxycontin,hydrocodone,codein, demeral injections, demeral pills, methadone, and combinations of xanax,valium,and combinations of the above drugs. This has been over 20 years that I took these meds, and all were given to me by surgeons and pain specialist. I have nothing left that can be done medically. IF my liver does not fail first, I have had internal bleeding before that caused severe pain and swelling in my groin and legs. Walking was extremely painful, and my legs were purple and my groin was as big as a grapefruit. When I was given a shot of contrast to show were I was bleeding from, my groin hurt very bad and the burning was awful. That is where I was bleeding from. I have no idea what I hope to gain by writing this, we are all going to die. Some people are braver than I am. I have a idea of what those on death row must feel when they arrive there. They know they are going to die, when is the question. Just for the record I am no longer a big fan of the death penalty as so many people have been found to have been innocent after years on death row. I do feel some deserve to die, I want no part of killing anyone other than 1 cowardly pervert who I intend to kill before I leave this world.

Your pain could be neuropathic in nature. Talk to your doctor about your having this type of pain. Narcotics are useless for nerve pain. D.W.A.
