In common rail direct injection (DICOR) engine used in multicylender & main function is to provided the fuel in equal amount of in all cylender & the pressure of the fuel is high for atomised (Vaporized) the fuel & these atomised the fuel is reduces the knoking problem.
Regarding this high pressure is use.
Common Rail is a form of fuel injection used with gasoline and diesel engines
Common-rail Direct Injection: The latest technology in diesel engines.
Common-rail Direct Injection: The latest technology in diesel engines.
diesel only comes in fuel injection, the fuel needs high pressure to ignite, and cannot only be sucked in like with a carburator on a petrol engine
CRDI is an abbreviation for common rail direct fuel injection. This is a direct fuel injection system that is used in diesel and petrol engines.
CDi is an acronym for Common-rail Direct Injection, which describes a particular diesel injection technology. Nearly every diesel engine equipped with CDi will be turbocharged.
MPFI is Multi-Point Fuel Injection, which is the fuel system used with gasoline engines. CRDI is Common Rail Direct Injection, which is the fuel system used in diesel engines.
TDCI stands for Turbo Diesel Common Rail Injection. It's the name Ford gives to their otherwise unremarkable common rail system on their Duratorq and Powerstroke diesel engines.
A common rail diesel engine is similar to a conventional diesel engine, only difference being the fuel injection system(FIS).The common rail direct injection system uses electronic circuits to control the amount of fuel that is injected in to the cylinder. Also the time of injection(TI), Start of injection (SOI), Injection quantity (Q), and the injection pressure (P) are all accurately controlled with ecu in this technology. A high pressure pump(HPP), driven from Engine shaft, is used to pump in high pressure fuel from the tank and deliver it to the common rail. A common rail is nothing but a hollow shaft to which the fuel is delivered and maintained at a very high pressure of about 2000 bar.during the firing sequence of that particular cylinder, the high pressure electronically operated injector will be opened and fuel with a pressure of about 2000 bar is injected in to the cylinder. This high pressure fuel cloud will be automised completely and leads to complete combustion of the fuel, thus avoiding emission.
Modern Diesel engines that use Common Rail Injection, Pumpe Duse or Variable Pressure systems can all be tuned by tuning chips or external tuning boxes. Older diesel engines can have a more basic level or tuning chip applied that just increases pressure, but these can cause issues with poor idling and smoking.
Both a great deal and very little at the basic operation level. Most current automotive diesel engines are Turbo charged, four cycle direct injection designs with high pressure common rail injection systems. Most North American Locomotives are two cycle turbo charged direct injection engines. Most Locomotives are still using the old style mechanical injection pump or unit injectors.
