Rainbow colors are associated with Autism Acceptance, such as representing Neurodiversity and Autism as a spectrum, as used by the Autism Self-Advocacy Network. Red is also associated with Walk In Red which is an Autism Acceptance movement to counter Light It Up Blue of Autism Speaks.

Blue is associated with Autism Speaks - it's commonly used for Autism Awareness but is automatically connected to this organization which is rejected by the Autism community. Autism Speaks is considered a hate group due to it's use of harmful Propaganda against Autistic people, attacks against Autistic people, support of torture of Autistic people, and support of eugenics against Autistic people.

Note: The puzzle piece can also be offensive towards Autistic people, the puzzle piece implies we are 'missing' when we are not and as a symbol of Autism Speaks is triggering for some Autistic people.

The symbol for Autism is a puzzle piece. The colors are:

* Red * Green * Blue * And yellow

*****EDIT*****

The colors for autism are Red Green, Yellow and Blue (multi colored there isn't one set color. this help represent the vastness of the Autism Spectrum as well as hope through awareness. Autism is traditionally symbolized by puzzle pieces and the famous puzzle piece awareness Ribbon. May people have changed the colors of the puzzle pieces on the ribbon to their liking though but traditionally they are red, yellow green and blue. Autism speaks uses a single blue puzzle piece and a some autism rights advocates protest the puzzle piece and use a multi colored infinity symbol ( I am on the spectrum myself and I much prefer the puzzle piece Ribbon) Autism speaks does a light it up blue event every year, they say blue for autism, but that is just the color of their organization. as stated the autism ribbon in multicolored. -ASDogGeek

Blue is NOT the color of autism. It is the color of a controversial, powerful organization called Autism Speaks with a powerful marketing campaign.

The colors of autism are RED, YELLOW and BLUE. And the symbol is a puzzle piece. It is the only condition with 3 colors.

The pieces reflect the mystery and complexity of autism.

The different colors, RED, YELLOW AND BLUE, and figures represent the diversity of people and families living with this disorder.

The brilliance of the ribbon is a sign of hope, hope that through greater awareness of autism, and through early intervention and appropriate intensive treatment, people with autism can live full and productive lives.

There is no specific shade of blue associated with Autism awareness.

Please bare in mind that 'lighting it up blue' is associated with Autism Speaks, a group which acts against the interests of Autistic people - thus 'lighting it up blue' can be considered offensive.
