Food poisoning is very dangerous. It also spreads alot. Best to stop food poisoning is to wash your hands before and after eating. And if your a chef always wash your hands what cookng with raw and cooked food.
The majority of food poisoning cases are generally mild, with symptoms lasting between 24-48 hours. However, in severe cases, major complications may occur, such as kidney failure and even death. The severity of the food poisoning depends on the type of organism that causes the illness, the immune system of the person, and the amount of contaminated food that the person consumed. The very young and the elderly are most likely to be at risk for serious complications caused by food poisoning.
Sometimes (especially in infants and the elderly) and sometimes not. Most people have had at least a couple mild cases of food poisoning in their lives and simply mistaken it for stomach flu.
The worst case of food poisoning that I have had was on a vacation trip in 2003. About an hour after arriving back at my motel in the evening (about 2 hours after eating dinner at the restaurant where I think I got it) i became very sick. I then spent the rest of that night until 5AM (I know it was this time because at that point I threw up something that soon as it was out of me the nonstop painful stomach cramps I had been having quit! I was still sick but the cramping had stopped.) alternating between 10 minutes throwing up in the toilet and 2 to 5 minutes in bed exhausted. Even though I recovered, eating anything more than the absolutely smallest portion at any time in the next week would cause me to throw up what I had just eaten. I was still able to enjoy the rest of the trip but with only eating the little my stomach would accept until I fully recovered I did lose a noticeable amount of weight on that trip.
Food poisoning can harm people due to the havoc it does to the digestive system. Food poisoning is known to cause diarrhea and vomiting, and in some cases worse. This is typically contracted through improper food handling procedures.
