its natural sugar. not the stuff you by in the grocery store.
second answer:
Sugar is an important macronutrient used to produce energy in your body via the citric acid cycle. Despite some crash diet ideology, sugars and fats are good for you and you should consume them relative to your specific need. Consuming more than you need usually causes you to store it as fat.
more in depth:
I have wondered the same thing. Fruits contain the monosaccaride fructose which is a simple sugar. I've always heard to stay away from simple sugars because they spike your blood sugar due to the fact that they are absorbed so quickly (unlike a disaccaride which has to be broken down to monosaccarides to be used for energy). I've come to the conclusion that fruits are good for you because they contain a lot of fiber (polysaccarides including some that are indigestable). This fiber slows the digestion of the simple sugars you just consumed from the fruit making it like consuming a disaccaride. Again, this is me putting 2 pieces of knowledge together. I didnt read this from a text book or hear it from a licensed nutritionist.
The best sugar known to be good for you, are the ones in dates. It has been said as well as known that the sugar contained in dates is eatremely healthy and that an average person who eats up to 7 dates in a day has a longer life span than ones who don't. This does not exactly mean that you should eat only dates but it means that you should keep a healthy balanced diet containing all foods including normal sugar like chocolate and candy every once and a while.
having sugar in general whatever type it is is not bad as long as you don't consume too little or too much. I hopw this information has been useful for you...:)
The kind of sugar usually found in fruit is known as 'fructose'. This is different to the kind of sugar produced from sugar cane, which is known as 'sucrose'.
Fructose is not necessarily "good for you". However, it is known to be more nutritionally beneficial than sucrose. This is because fructose is a more complex chemical than sucrose. Sucrose breaks down extremely quickly during digestion, which results in a quick burst of energy followed by tiredness. Fructose is digested at a more steady rate, providing a slower and more sustained release of energy.
yes,but some have to much sugar.like bannas
Yes; much better than chocolate.
yea defoo! because it is natural
Yes, fruits can be. They contain sugar and the body can not tell the difference between sugar from candy or fruit. One orange for instance is the same amount of sugar as 4 sugar cubes. Nothing is good in excess.
Well, lamingtons contain chocolate which is not good for you in big amounts. This is because of the amount of sugar.
Most fruits are good for your body. The only think you have to be careful about is the fact that fruits contain a lot of natural sugar. If you are diabetic or sensitive to sugar, then you should be careful about the amount of fruit you have. One thing that is very hot right now are the "super fruits" which offer a large amount of health benefits. Some of these are:Acai berriesApplesBananasGrapefruitBlueberriesCantaloupeCherriesCitrus fruitsCranberriesDragon fruitGrapesBlackberriesKiwiOrangesPlumsPomegranateStrawberriesAvocadosTomatoesPapayasRaspberriesPumpkin & pumpkin seedsWatermelonPineapple
Bananas contain a good amount of potassium.
they are very sugary, and does not have too many vitamins, so as a treat they are OK, but not to eat everyday!
fruit sugar its good for diabetics too
Niether are good for you. Both contain food dye, sugar, and other things not good. Better to drink fruit juice, tea, water, milk.
I think u can after all fruit is good for u and it's healthy so why not give it a try :) Fruit is good for you but try to only eat your recommended daily amount, fruits have LOTS of sugar You need protein and fat to live!
Most fruits contain an insignificant amount of protein. Some fruits that do have a good amount of protein include: avocados, guava, passion fruit, and pomegranate. Most other fruits have 1 g of protein or less per serving. Be sure to eat fruits in moderation because they are high in sugar.
