It really depends on the type of person. Some people prefer to be alone and that's not necessarily bad. However if you don't socialise you will become lonely and introverted and is likely to make you depressed. In the world of work you have to be able to socialise with others and so bad social skills can make this hard. Socialising also gives you the opportunity to share your worries with other people and this can help you get them of your chest. Biologically humans are social creatures, and as such friendly contact with other people leads to better overall health and better mood.
