You need to be able to tell what is true or not. This is part of abstract thinking and it allows you to know the truth from a lie. If I told you that the earth was the center of the universe and you couldn't think this out you might believe me. If you believe that then I can lie to you about anything. I can sell you anything or tell you things that could change your life. I see a lot of this sort of thing in history and if repeated often enough the lie becomes the truth. School tries to teach you these things through reading so you can make educated decisions.

It is important to distinguish between the fake and real parts of a story or program to avoid misinformation, manipulation, and misunderstanding. Being able to discern fact from fiction helps to build critical thinking skills, promote a deeper understanding of the content, and make informed judgments about the world around us.

A tv program that you don't like?

Unfortunately, the list of TV programs that I don't like is so much longer than the list of programs that I do like. So to make a long story short, I DO NOT like programs designed to appeal to the adolescent, male mentality; infomercials (which includes TV evangelists); and ANY program that mentions 'liberal' or 'conservative' in any way, shape, or form. I guess that's a simple list after all.
