Since early civilizations, murder is considered bad behavior. However the laws since early civilizations don't condone killing but murder. Killings done by soldiers get them medals and killings as self-defense don't get jail.

But humans make the laws, and they are designed to provide the foremost benefit to humans. In the Earth's food chain, it cannot be said to be "immoral" or "unethical" for one animal to kill or consume another. These are strictly human concepts.
