I believe this is because of rubber's tendency to dry out and become brittle over time. The new wire coatings, such as nylon and PVC, last much longer. Not to mention when pulling actual wires into conduit, nylon is much smoother than rubber and easier to install.

Give an example of thermal expansion?

Electrical cables that are strung from pole to pole are made of metal (usually aluminum or copper, in the U.S.). In hot weather, the cables get longer, which causes them to sag lower than they do in the winter. When the distance between poles is long, it can be pretty obvious.

Do you have to change all the cables on a 02 FLHTC when you replace handle bars?

If the handlebars are the same size and shape then no, but if they are longer you will need longer cables to reach.

What is different in wire and cable?

"Wire" and "cable" are terms often used interchangeably, but they refer to different things in the context of electrical and electronic systems. Wire: .A wire is a single, solid or stranded conductor typically made of copper or aluminum. .It is used to carry electrical current from one point to another. .Wires are often categorized by gauge (thickness), with smaller gauge numbers indicating thicker wires. .Common applications include connecting components on a circuit board, making electrical connections within devices, or for simple point-to-point wiring. Cable: **.**A cable, on the other hand, is a group of wires bundled together, often surrounded by an insulating sheath **.**Cables can consist of multiple conductors, each with its own insulation, and may also include additional components such as shielding, filler materials, or protective layers. **.**Cables are used for transmitting electrical signals or power over longer distances and are more structured and organized than individual wires. Types of cables include power cables, data cables (such as Ethernet cables), and coaxial cables, each designed for specific applications. In summary, while a wire is a single conductor, a cable is a collection of wires bundled together with additional features to serve specific purposes. Cables are more complex and are used for transmitting signals or power over longer distances, while wires are simpler and often used for more localized connections.

What is a Y- sPLICE?

A splice is usually two rope ends joined together to form a longer rope. A Y splice is three rope ends are joined together to form a Y shape. The same can be said for connecting three electrical or component cables.

If infrared waves can move information through the air, what is the advantage of sending their signals through networks of cables?

What is a UTP coupler?

A UTP coupler is a small block to which you can connect two UTP cables to form a longer one. Handy if you have 2 short cables but need a long one.

Does data transfer slower if I have a longer 1394 cable?

No, 1394 cables transmit data independently of length.
