The Iberian lynx became endangered for two main reasons. The first of these was that it depends on rabbits to live and does not adjust well to eating other foods. The rabbits living in the lynx's habitat were nearly wiped out by a succession of two diseases, making it very hard for the lynx to find food. Its habitat has also been seriously impacted by human development, reducing the territory the lynx has available to it and further impacting its ability to survive.
The first half on how the Iberian Lynx became
critically endangered. Started by two diseases.
First disease is Myxomatosis is a disease found in
rabbits which started in the 1950's, and then the
second disease started in the 1980's called viral
Hemorrhagic pneumonia, as the Death Rate of rabbits
started falling the Iberian Lynx struggled as there
were very little population of rabbits around, some
of the Iberian lynx died of hunger That's how the first half of how the Iberian lynx
became threatened, the second half is when
Iberian Lynx lost their Habitat, Illegal hunting
sport hunting, accidental killing by snares set
for rabbits, and poison baits set for foxes and
other predators, even road kill have been a factor in
making the Iberian Lynx critically Endangered and
Threatened. And if continued will cause the iberian
lynx to tall extinction and will be the loss of the first
feline wild cat.
They go to cruel people and sell their coats for money.:(
