Water is not used in most modern cars, or at least is not recommended.

If it is used, it is because it is cheap and easy to find and will do the job .

What is a water pump in a car?

In a car the water pump circulates coolant through the engine and to the radiator.

Why is Water is coming into the car and overheating?

If you mean engine coolant is getting into the car, the heater core is leaking coolant causing the coolant level to drop and that causes the engine to over heat.

What is heavier an air cooled car engine or a water cooled car engine?

The water cooled engine will typically be heavier, because you have to add in the water pump, the radiator and the water/coolant. The engine block itself may be lighter as there are passages drilled out for the water/coolant to flow through.

What is the water pump used for in a car?

To circulate coolant through the engine block, radiator and passenger compartment heater core.

Why does a car need water in its engine?

Water or coolant keeps the engine cool . -Some engines are air cooled.

Why coolant water is used in car bus truck etc why simple water is not used in vehicles?

Engine coolant contains certain chemical properties that water does not. Coolant is used in cars, busses, trucks, and other vehicles, and it is never recommended to use water unless it is only a short-term fix until you can get more coolant. The main difference is freezing point. If you use water as coolant in the winter, it will likely freeze and crack your engine block. In the heat, water boils much faster and produces more heat.

What is a radiotor used for in a car?

The radiator is used to cool down the coolant (water plus antifreeze etc) which in turn is used to circulate the engine and prevent it overheating.

Can a car overheat when the water system is leaking?

If by water you mean engine coolant, yes. Loss of coolant, antifreeze, is a major cause of overheating.

What does a car water pump do?

A vehicles water pump circulates coolant ( water and antifreeze ) through the engine and to the heater core and the radiator. The coolant is warmed up in the engine and the coolant carries the heat to the radiator where it cooled down before being recirculated through the engine again.

Why is water used as a coolant in car radiators?

Water is used as coolant in car radiators because it has high specific heat capacity of 4200 Joules. It has the highest specific heat capacity than any other substance. That is why it is used as coolant in car radiators

What is the better coolant for a car engine antifreeze or water?

Always use antifreeze. Water does not have any water pump lubricants or anti corrosion properties, antifreeze coolant does.
