As it uses a part of the brain connected to the reaction thought process which is very crucial when driving if a dangerous situation to occur the reaction of the driver due to the fact he/she is on the phone will lead to them to have delayed reactions often leading to injury and possible fatality as well as vehicle damage.

Generally speaking, you have to concentrate more on your driving while talking on a cell phone. You should feel this as you are talking and understand that you have a greater chance of having an accident or running a red light unintentionally or etc.An interesting phenomenon: I have used the nextel direct connect procedure (2 way talk button), when talking to friends while driving and don't notice a difference in concentration. (Using a nextel phone 2 way near my lap like a 2 way radio etc). However when holding a cell phone to my ear while driving and trying to talk on the phone I notice a lack of concentration while driving. WHY IS THIS PHENOMONEN NOTICED?What is the mental difference between holding a cell phone to your ear and using one in your lap in the direct talk mode????
