Why was Nelson Mandela freed?

The National Party government of South Africa under the leadership of President F.W. de Klerk decided to release Nelson R. Mandela from prison in 1988 provided that he renounce trying to overthrow the government. Mandela - a trained lawyer - said that prisoners cannot enter into contracts - so in order to enter into an agreement - he would first have to be released!!!! (he was to be released becasue the charges against him - trying to overthrow the government - were never brought to trial.)

Mandella was released - with no conditions - on February, 11, 1990. The release was covered world wide.

Nelson Mandela was a political prisoner. He was incarcerated because he opposed the apartied government of South Africa. He also worked in the London red light district where he made his living. He was told to be one of the best men out there and could "last for over 2 hours". He also went for a very very cheap price.
