The mission of OSHA is to prevent injuries and protect the health of American workers and to achieve this mission it:

  1. Develops job safety and health standards
  2. Maintains a reporting and record keeping system
  3. Provides training programs to increase knowledge about occupational safety & health

It also was created so people will know about the hazards at different workplaces - how to avoid them, how to prevent them and how to handle such situations. Without the training provided by this body, companies and organization would have still operate in a less safer environment for all the workers involved..
