More Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark' was a children's book of scary stories. It contained creepy illustrations and was highly entertaining. Unfortunately, it was banned in several schools because one student's grandmother complained that the stories featured murder, death, and cannibalism, among other things.

"Scary Stories" by Alvin Schwartz contains three books: "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark," "More Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark," and "Scary Stories 3: More Tales to Chill Your Bones." Each book is around 100-150 pages long.
There are three books in the "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" series written by Alvin Schwartz: "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" (1981), "More Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" (1984), and "Scary Stories 3: More Tales to Chill Your Bones" (1991).
For adults: the short stories of Clive Barker are some of my personal favorites. Try Books of Blood, Volumes 1 and 2.For kids: when I was growing up, my favorite scary stories books were the Scary Stories books by Alvin Schwartz, illustrated by Stephen Gammell. There are three of them, plus the anthology: Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, More Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, Scary Stories 3: More Tales to Chill Your Bones, and The Scary Stories Treasury: Three Books to Chill Your Bones.I also loved the Tales for the Midnight Hour books by J.B. (Judith Bauer) Stamper: Tales for the Midnight Hour, More Tales for the Midnight Hour, Still More Tales for the Midnight Hour, and Even More Tales for the Midnight Hour.
"Scary Stories 3 More Tales to Chill Your Bones" was banned due to concerns about its content being too scary and disturbing for young readers. Some parents and educators felt that the book's horror themes and graphic illustrations were inappropriate for children.
No, but they are even more scary as they are mostly possible.
Alvin Schwartz wrote scary stories because he felt that writing scary stories would build tension and suspense, so the reader would continue to read his books, and it was creepy looking on the front so that kids who hadn't read it yet would be drawn in by the spooky cover.

cause poems are some scary.
most scary movies are fictional...aliens or monsters or people that rise from the dead. But some scary movies are very realistic...murders and stuff. The only scary movie that are based on the truth are ones that are based on true stories "based on true events" and even then they stretch the truth A LOT to make the movie more interesting!!
