Ayurvedic medicine will give you good answers to this question. Most medics believe that cravings are your body's way of telling you what it needs; if you crave spicy foods, it could be that you are lacking specific herbs etc found in this type of food.

We no longer have to obtain our own food, fatty foods are readily available, this being said, we evolve to adapt to our environment, so we wouldn't crave low-fat foods because they are not abundant in our environment.

first day i would eat soft cold foods. After that you can eat those foods but i would be careful with crunchy food like chips for at least another 3 days.
