∙ 14y agoNo, that is too dangerous. Because the ground is charge with a positive pole and the clouds with a negative one. And the lighting is "despaired" to come down the fastest possible and always comes down in the highest point.
If you are in an open field, you are the hightest point in there because there's no trees, houses,... around.

∙ 12y agoIn reality, it does not matter whether you are standing or crouching because a couple feet is not going to make you any more attractive as a conductor of electricity. What you DO NOT want to do is sit or lay on the ground, increasing your surface area in contact with the ground. In the event that you are struck by lightning, you are less likely to survive if you do so.
