How young is to young to get a nose job?

Why would a teenage want or need a nose job? Self-image and appearance are very important to teenagers. Even still, parents should talk to their teen about their concerns and try to address their real issues, such as fitting-in and looking good compared to their peers, before they consider a nose job. If a nose job is necessary, make sure you have researched the benefits and risks with a plastic surgeon. Also consider using a surgeon that works with children frequently and relates well to your child. Consult your family doctor for a referral.

Additional things to consider:

* Is the problem cosmetic or functional? A cosmetic issue may be eliminated after some additional growing. A functional issue, like a deviated septum, may require the procedure. Discuss your options with your surgeon.

• Is your teen seeking approval and perfection? Your child may not be a good candidate for a nose job. One procedure may not be enough and they may continue to seek out perfection by considering other cosmetic procedures.

* It depends on the person but most peoples noses are stable enough for surgery at 13/14. First you need to talk to your GP about it, he/she will tell you if you are ready. If they feel that you are mature enough to make this decision) they will then refer you to a surgeon. Some surgeons do prefer not to operate on such young people however. You just have to choose the right one. I know this is what happens, because i have just been to my GP/doctor and have received a referral I have just turned 16.

* You can get a nose job at 15 but remember your nose is still growing.

Depends where you live. Most won't until they are at least 16 from what I'm told, unless the nose is so large or small that breathing is difficult. But sometimes, doctors and anyone else for that matter will do anything for $$$$$....

there is no age limit to get a nose job, most doctors recomend age 16 though due to the fact that your body should be done growing when you recieve the nose job. There are a few risks you will have if you get a nose job before you are done growing. But as long as you are done growing, you may certainlly get one at age 14. I know a girl at my school who got one before she went into high school and she has only recieved benifits from it at age 14. I would though take a few therapy one-on-ones before you get it , just to make sure you are responsible enough to get one and you know you are making the right choice. Best of luck with you surgery! A 12 year old can get a nose job if its a medical condition and is prescribed by a doctor. Otherwise surgeons won't do it until you are 15 or 16 for girls and 16 or 17 for boys. If you do a surgery really early then your nose will grow back or maybe be even worse than before. You should wait until you are 18.
