AnswerJ.C Higgins Model 29 was manufactured for Sears by Hi Standard:Not all J C Higgins were made by Hi Standard, but this model was.Marlin, Winchester, Browning and Savage also made guns for Sears.

If this is a BB gun, then there are numbers associated with it. They start with 799 or 126. I need these numbers to Identify who made the rifle and it will also Identify the model.
I've been told that this rifle may be the same as some Marlin .22 rifles. Maybe you can cross reference. My catalogue list the JC Higgins model 126.2831 as a Crosman model 180. I believe your 126.2830 is also the same model. (Crosman and Daisy made air guns for Sears.) If I am right then see the link below
the JC Higgins is the same as the MARLIN 100 and parts can be interchanged. also I was missing the same thing on my Higgins so I ordered this sight and for under $10 I got sight elevator. https://www.gunpartscorp.com/ad/1137930.htm#1137930AE
Just purchased a Model 83 from a gentleman who states that he bought it new originally in 1940, when he was about 9 or 10 at the time. Introduced in 1935 and dropped from production in 1939. The Stevens Springfield rifle was also made for Sears's and was called the Ranger model 103 and there was also a model made for J.C. Higgins They sold for about $25.00
I believe it is made by Marlin model 57M also the Enfield 57M is the same gun as well, at least this is what my research is showing. Mine is a 22 mag and I am very happy with it, it works fine just like a Marlin.
JC Higgins sold over a dozen air rifles made by Daisy and Crosman. Which one are you asking about? I am asking about model # A302688 made in the 1950ies? All the Daisy models began with 799.xxxxx and all the Crosman models started with 126.xxxxx. I believe #A302688 is a serial number and not a model number. If you can locate either 126. or 799. on the rifle that will give more information as to the identify of who made it. Also please state the current condition of the rifle, is it still working? Is it in Poor, Fair, Good, Very Good or Excellent condition. The current condition determines much of the value. I do not have a listing of every model made for sears (JC HIggins) But I'll help you if I can. Here's an example. 126.19041 is really a Crosman V350 and in good condition is worth around $70 to $85. I would lean toward the $70 because it's a JC Higgins model and not as desirable as a Crosman model. Even though it's was made by Crosman.
The Hahn Super Repeater was marketed by Crosman, who also furnished air rifles to Sears. Possible. New Answer 3/30/2008 Yes Crosman made the same rifle (Hahn Super Repeater Model 166) for Sears under the JC Higgins name. Value Apx: 100%=$125 to 60%=$45
