Well do you live in an apartment or something? If so i hate to say this but they may have a point, potty training would be really hard, and you'd have to walk it at least once a day.
Here's a good arguing point: Taking care of a puppy would be a good way for you to learn responsibility. (i know it sounds lame but if it works so what lol)
so tell me a little more about your situation and I'll try to think up some more stuff :)

Why do parents buy there kids violent video games?
