If you are dead set on doing this, something that can hold another meaning. It is never a good idea to get a tattoo representing love, unless it is your kids. The worst mistake is getting a name or pictures done of the person. I would go with a flower, or symbol that can represent that person, but also has some sort of hold on another part of your life. I.E. if I wanted to get one representing my boyfriend, I wouldn't do his name, but instead either a dragon or bunny, as those are animals that I associate with him, but that have alternate meanings for me as well. Do something that you are unlikely to regret later.
