Assuming that the original marriage was sacramentally valid (as a norm, the Church assumes the sacramental validity of all marriages between two Christians, unless there is manifest reason to doubt it), divorce and remarriage would never be accepted by the Catholic Church regardless of the other factors involved. Marriages cannot be ended by anything but the death of one or both spouses.
