- Your company cannot fire you because you are pregnant. You should hope they do though. Then you can sue for a substantial amount of money.
- Unless Texas has specific laws allowing maternity leave, or your company has to meet the federal Family Medical Leave Act provisions, there would be no requirement for them to hold your job or allow you to return after a maternity leave.
- You can finance your maternity leave by purchasing short term disability, and hospital indemnity insurance before you conceive. Both pay cash benefits when you deliver your child, and may replace most of your lost income.
