Only diagnose the system if you know what your doing and don't mind working with VERY dangerous compressed liquids and gasses. The first thing i'd check is the pressure on the low side of the system. You can get a refridgerant check gauge at most auto parts stores. It should only fit on the low pressure side nozzle. Gauges will give you example normal pressure levels. If you get a gauge/canister of r134a, they also include instructions for adding if needed. If that's not it, then it could be many things. You might wanna bite the bullet and get it checked by a pro.
