Chances are the hot wire to rear light assemblies has been damaged and is shorting to frame. The rear light assemblies have a high ratio of failure with grounding problems or shorts. Most due to the harness location. Most shorting issues can be fixed by taking harness apart at rear light assemblies. Chances are the wire At Fault will be within a foot of the assembly as that area seems to get the most stressed. Check the grounds while in there, they will likely be impaired also.
Are you blowing fuses or are the bulbs blowing? Blowing fuses would be a sign of any wires or metal contacts in your brake circuit grounding out or shorting on themselves. You'll have to check all of the wiring in your brake light/switch circuit to be sure.
Yes they indeed have brake lights...
Check the bulbs one of the 2 filaments may be burned out
check all brake bulbs a filiment may have shorted out

If the brake lights do not work on Chevy Venture van 2000, try to disconnect the brake switch. Then short the two contacts of the connector to check if the brake lights are now working.
