If you are not getting fuel that light will flash. It's probably overheating without the fuel to cool it. When you start out, after the car sits, all the crap in the tank will settle back out of the filter. Then, when you start the car and drive, the filter will slowly get clogged, again. This is good, because that junk is not going to your injectors or carburetor. But it's also bad, because it could cause an accident on the highway!! Fix it! I suppose you have a diesel? Change the fuel filters. Cars, nowadays, have a very high-micron filtering capacity and some will not even let sugar through. With this trashy gas and fuel they're selling, today, you cannot run forever on an original filter. Change em!! !!!PLEASE CLICK DISCUSSION TO VIEW OTHER ANSWERS!!!
As gas flows into the ignition box, a spark is made, igniting the gasoline and the explosion starts driving the pistons.
Same problem I had. You need a new ignition switch. Current one has a short which is disabling fuel pump, therefore shutting engine down while driving
My 1995 Ford Explorer has also done that occasionally ( although I have removed the ignition key as soon as I open the drivers door , the key in ignition chime starts " going " ) What I do is put the ignition key back in and then remove it again and the chime will stop Give that a try
starts normal when its cold then after driving bout 10 miles it starts stumbling or hiccups feels like im running out of gas and then my RPM goes up to 3000RPM up and down
Loose or corroded battery cables? Weak battery? Bad ignition switch?
The ignition starter has nothing to do with performance. It just starts the engine.
The ignition switch could be bad if a Hyundai Elantra has no crank and then starts. The fuses which are tied to the ignition should also be checked.
car starts but shut off while driving
try the crank sensor
The ignition switch completes the circuit of electricity from the battery to the starter that actually turn the engine over and starts it.The ignition switch completes the circuit of electricity from the battery to the starter that actually turn the engine over and starts it.
The distributor might be damaged on your 1999 Buick Regal if it stalls occasionally and will not start. This problem is common in older vehicles and once you sit for a few minutes, the vehicle will generally restart.Ê
battery light indication means a dead battery or a dead alternater/regulater or a fault in the charging/ignition system
