No, she won't. Unlike some other animals guinea pigs are quite happy to let you touch & play with the babies after she has cleaned them up after birth. It's actually a good idea to do this & handle them every day to get them used to people.
Pups or Guinea piglets.
Young guinea pigs are called pups.
You get inbreeding and sick pups.
You breed them of course! Baby guinea pigs are called pups.
It depends if you want pups or if you just want them to be friends. A male HAS to be neuterd if you don't want any pups. If you do, i suggest researching about pups first will definetly help you. Also, keep in mind that males can be very dominating.
Well, my guinea pig had 8 on her first liter. I think they usually have four or so babies a guinea pig has 2 to 6 babies in one litter.
Male Guinea Pigs are called Boars, female Guinea Pigs are called Sows, and babby Guinea Pigs are called Pups. A group of Guinea Pigs is called a Herd. :)
I would say in about 2 weeks when they get their hair so that way the mother wont mind as much when you do touch them. Reason why they are older and the mother just slowly stops caring and lets them fend for themselves.
You can hold the dad, but not the mom or pups. The dad should be separated from the pups but you could hold him. The mom would eat the pups if you touched them, or sometimes even her! Never touch the pups until they are old enough.
