The Clan Lyon in Scotland has its origins in Normandy - the name
could be a battle name, a personal attribute as the Dukes of
Normandy had lyons on their standard or coat of arms. There is also
a 'Forêt de Lyons' in Normandy where the Abbey of Mortemer is
