General George Washington, was the American commander at the Battle of Yorktown.

Britain suffered approximately 24,000 casualties in the American Revolutionary War. Also, 7,554 Germans died fighting on the side of the British. The war was fought from 1775 to 1783, and resulted in a victory for America.

There have been many historical events that happened in Yorktown, it is where the battle of Yorktown took place. Yorktown is located in the state of Virginia.

During the Revolutionary war there was no such thing as a Supreme Commander. On a June 15th,1775 the Patriots named George Washington as the Commander in Chief of the American Armies against Great Britain.
