Mythology states that Hinduism was born when Lord Brahma gave birth to sons. Being sons of Lord Brahma they thought their Religion to be brhaminism unless told otherwise by Lord Brahma himself.

The ethics that are honored in Buddhism include four requirements for nirvana. These are loving kindness, compassion, sympathy and equanimity. These four ethics are known as "The Palaces of Brahma." The ethics that lead to a positive rebirth are reached by compassion within society.

Buddhists and Buddhism differ from Hinduism by believing in a couple of things differently. In its origins, Buddhism is similar to Hinduism though. Hinduism involves understanding Brahma, which is existence in the soul. Buddhism is more about finding the "not soul", or as practicers would say, the "Anatman" and nirvana.
