I believe they were tea bags, tea bricks would have caused more inflation than ever .

They lost tea because they threw it into the harbor which made the British mad so parliament made up "The Stamp Act". :)

The process begins by boiling the leaves then placing them in cheesecloth to drain excess moisture. Twisting the cloth disposes of that moisture as the contents are shaped to a brick.

1 brink = (¾+¼) brick = ¾ brick + ¼ brick

If 1 brick balances ¾ brick + ¾ lb then:

1 brick = ¾ brick + ¼ brick = ¾ brick + ¾ lb

→ ¼ brick = ¾ lb (subtracting ¾ brick from both sides)

→ 1 brick = 3 lb (multiplying both sides by 4).
