It sounds as if you have a short circuit which will probably be in the cable. The easiest solution is to buy another keyboard. they are inexpensive so it will not break the bank. If you are good at soldering and the damage is at the keyboard end of the cable it should be possible to repair it, but not worth the hassle.

This has happened to me before and my keyboard stopped working properly; several of my keys no longer functioned. I was forced to purchase a brand new one. The second time around, I wanted to be prepared for the unexpected. I bought a waterproof keyboard and it was the best thing I could of done. Its great not to have to worry about where on my desk I place my drink. I have suggested this to all my friends as well.
