3.6 seconds is the 0-60 time duration. The Turbo twin cam 2.2 intercooled would do 0 to 60 in 7.1 according to most test,and with a really good pro driver could do it in 6.8 . With a bigger intercooler and turning the boost up another 6 pounds (or chip the computer) they have the possibility of g…etting into the very high 5.5 or higher range. They have potential with a larger turbo and larger intercooler and open up the exhaust exhaust. The non turbo models are slower, but the V-6 models will run right at the 7.1 range when they became installed in them. Of course the new ones are even faster now, but a used turbo MX 6 is cheap to modify, cheap to buy compared to newer ones and get your fast ET times that would be a big surprise to anyone around thinking it was a stock looking car from the outside. Just would recommend installing a new good headgasket before doing any mods and depending on the miles on it.... Plus the RX-7 Gen 2 turbo looks like a direct bolt in (Minor Mods needed) and it flows more air. (MORE)
Answer . According to BMW specification, 6.0 seconds. I timed my own 2001 Z3 Roadster with Automatic repeatedly between 5.7 and 5.8 seconds, using a Beltronics Performance Computer Vector FX2. These things don't lie. My Z3 has not been modified in any way.

I would check tire balance and check for warped rotors, first. Check tires for blisters and check the steering linkage for worn parts.

Probably wheel balance but you should have the front end safety checked for your own safety. You may have a tie rod end ready to separate and you would lose your steering, not good.

I struggled with algebra at school & would love to know how to do these sort of calculations. My guesswork (which could be very wrong!) is that the average of 0 and 60 is 30 so if I assume the whole time is spent averaging (doing) 30mph, multiply the distance travelled at 30mph (about 13.3 metres pe…r second) by 2.6 to arrive at a figure of 34.66 metres. Having never been in a racing car or dragster I don't know if this figure seems about right. I know my own car can reach 60 in 13 seconds and using the same method gives 173 metres which seems roughly what I'd expect. (MORE)
Yes. If you have forged pistons not really because they have a lower heat sensitivity. But if your building up alot of friction on a normal engine, you can wear it very fast and have a lot of mechanical problems later down the road. In any vehicle, the steering wheel can start shaking if there are problems with the front wheels. They could be out of balance, or there could be somthing physically wrong with the tire itself, like broken steel bands under the rubber tread.. If you drove on any muddy roads, something as simple as …a chunk of mud getting stuck on the rim can make the wheel be out of balance until it is cleaned off so I would look for any debris on the rims before I took them to a garage to be re-balanced.. It's possible that there are issues with the steering components but I would rule out tire balance first. (MORE)

Obviously that number depends on a few factors. Which engine, 4-cylinder or 6-cylinder. Which model, coupe or (heavier) convertible. Wikipedia shows the 0-60 time as 6.9 seconds. A Motor Trend road test posted online shows a very healthy 5.6 seconds with some minor TRD tweaks. Someone has poste…d a 0-60 video (2 of them actually) on YouTube but you'll have to hold your own stopwatch on them. Obviously the Solara isn't a race car. When you have both of those units then you will need to find the initial velocity in which this case would be 0 because you are starting from a stand still. Now you must plug these units into the displacement formula ( [Vi(T)+1/2AT^2 Vi]=initial velocity....
