Cannot speak specifically to a Oldsmobile but, on a Dodge product of same vintage it would be low freon. Either that, or it could be a bad control head, or a bad blend door actuator.

You can find the 2004 Oldsmobile blend door behind the passenger side kick plate. Remove the kick plate to access the blending door.

if driver side not working it is on passenger side @ bottom of heater case. they also have one on drivers side right of gas pedal, recirc door is upper dash passenger side

That sounds like a blend door problem.
The blend door actuator motor is located on the bottom of the plenum box on the passenger side towards the transmission tunnel. It is easy to remove and examine the motor to blend door connection. The blend door on the Ram is made of metal and seldom breaks. The problem is more likely the plastic interposer that spans between the metal drive motor connection the the metal axle. Check Ebay listings for HeaterTreater to find the Ram and a 100% solution and more diagnostic information.
If the car has a separate temp control for the passenger side and the driver side it would have two blend doors, otherwise it would only have one.
