If they are power windows, disconnect and check the related switches with an ohmmeter or find someone that can. If they are manual windows, you might as well replace the doors cause I'd rather hit my toe with a big hammer than tear the guts out of another old manual window roller that refuses to wor…k! its probably your switch ( Full Answer )
Why would your 1995 Buick LeSabre sound like an airplane when going down the road and get louder going up a hill?
Answer . Sounds like a locked up FAN CLUTCH if its a front noise OR a bad MUFFLER-can't tell by the description.\n. \n. \n . From the description I would be more inclined to believe the catalytic converter needs to be replaced.
This actually happened to my roommate's car (1999 SC2). Maybe it will be the same? Her passenger's side power window would only roll down, not up. She told me it had been rolling up a little slow shortly before it quit working all together. I took a look at it before she took it to a mechanic. What …I found was the switch contacts for the power window were corroded - it looked like arcing, probably just from being used. Anyway, when I cleaned the contacts the window worked fine. Doing this took less than 30 minutes and didn't cost anything. Here's how to do it: The power window switches are located in the center console. The switches are in a mounting plate with the power mirror adjustment. Pry the mounting plate out of the center console from the back. Disconnect all the electrical connectors. They have a locking tab which must be depressed first. They are all different sizes so you don't need to worry about which one goes where. Remove the switches from the mounting plate by removing the 4 Phillips head screws. Next remove the top of the switch assembly by removing the 3 Phillips head screws. Carefully remove the top of the switch assembly. The driver's side switch is plastic and one piece. The passenger's side has 2 contact rockers (one for up, one for down). If these look corroded, clean and reassemble. Be sure to line up the notch in the driver's side switch or it won't work. That's all there is to it! Hopefully this will save you some time and money. Answer The 2000 Saturn SL2 power window switch assembly has no screws, but lots of snaps. Problem: power window does not always move when switch is pressed.Solution: the switch contacts needed cleaning, as the previous posting suggested. How to remove: Remove switch panel from the center console by prying from the back and then the front. There are two snap features at each end that hold it in to the center console. Unplug the two wiring harness connectors by releasing their respective latches. Separate the window switch housing from the panel by releasing a set of four snap features. A small flat-blade screwdriver is handy here. Note the dove-tail features centered between each side pair of snaps. You will need to insure proper engagement of the dove-tails when you reassemble. The bottom of the switch housing is then removed by releasing four more snap features. The circuit board and switch contact assembly is inside and is removed by releasing yet four more snap features. Caution: once this assembly is unsnapped from inside the housing, the switch contacts for all the switches become loose and will fall out when the contact assembly is removed from the housing. That is OK, but do not loose the small metal pieces! Clean all the contact surfaces that show signs of electrical arcing: the posts in the assembly and the individual contact pieces that fell out. I used a small abrasive stone to shine them up. Reassembly:Holding the contact assembly in its upright position, set all the small contact pieces in their respective locations by engaging their middle side notches with the small plastic tabs in the assembly. With all the loose contacts set in place, keep the assembly upright and carefully insert the assembly into the switch housing until it is snapped into place. Then snap the housing's bottom cover into place.Snap the complete housing into the panel, making sure the dove-tail features are engaged. If they are not, the four snap features will not stay engaged. You may have to remove the power mirror switch housing (held by two snaps) to allow you to squeeze the dovetails together while you insert the housing.Reconnect the two wiring harness connectors.Snap the panel into the console. That's it. Answer . if the door panel is on hitting the door at the bottom may help or if panel is off hitting the motor with something may make it work
The tracks that the window rollers ride in are guncked up with old lube and dirt. I just cleaned the tracks out and lubed them with a light grease and my windows worked again. The window motor heats up and quits is the problem. If you don't attend to this you will have to spend up to $300.00 per mot…or plus labor to replace. . Answer . Probably because they're in the first stage of conking out entirely. If they go back up or partway up after you let them "cool off" for a few minutes, that's the problem. Replacing the motors is the only fix, there's no repairing them. But parts stores should have them. ( Full Answer )
On a 2000 Buick LeSabre why will the window go up some then no more then will retrack down one of the cables has a crimp in it how can this be fixed?
Answer . \nThe window regulators for the year 2000 are very poorly designed, GM used plastic where they should have used metal. The windows will fail for many reasons, too cold. too hot, a bump in the road, or you looked at it the wrong way. The good news is that may parts stores are carrying …this particular regulator, the typical cost is $99 [dealer is usually $450 installed]. The ones made in China appear to be the best, while the ones made in the US are the worst. My LeSabre has gone through 8 US-made ones, and so far none of the Chinese made ones. The details on how to remove the panel to replace the regulator is posted elsewhere in this forum. ( Full Answer )
Answer . Either your window switches are bad or the motors are.. The same exact thing happened on my 92 and I just finished fixing it. There are separate ground wires between the front and rear windows. Your ground is probably bad, mine had actually broken in half in the rubber boot in between t…he door and the body of the car. Answer . Check the regulator cable that runs in a sleeve (like a finger in a glove. Its part of the window assy inside each door.. it is the window switch most of the time, take the door pannel off and eather swap the wires or jumper power and the window will go up and then replace the switch
Why wont my rear window IN A HYUNDAI ELANTRA roll up but will roll down and you hear it makes a noise going down but not up?
Answer . I felt dumb but I had the same problem, there was a WINDOW LOCK I had pushed, it is on the Drivers Door. My youngest son figured it out
I have '92 Cabriolet and just had this happen to me. It was a good sized relay under the dash under the glove box - pretty easy to get to. This relay also happened to fix an issue with the power sprayer for the windshield which wasn't working. I'm not a mechanic so this is only observation - don't k…now if the relay controls both. Bought the relay at GermanAutoParts.com for about $130.00. ( Full Answer )
Answer . I had this problem with my 99 Grand Prix. More than likely what happened was the switch shorted out. You will need to replace the switch module by removing the plastic piece holding it in called the bezel. Be sure to lift it from the bottom side or you will break the clip in it. Pull ou…t the module carefully because you can break the plastic clips holding it in also. You can try to find it in a junk yard but most grand prix's or grand am's have had those removed already because GM is notorius with their window problems. Best move would be to look on eBay, there is usually a lot of them on there. ( Full Answer )
Answer . THAT MEANS THAT THE WINDOW IS NOT INITALIZED AND TO DO THAT YOU NEED HOLD THE WINDOW SWITCH ALL THE WAY UP AND HOLD IT THERE FOR A FEW SECONDS THEN PUT THE WINDOW DOWN AND HOLD THE SWITCH DOWN FOR A COUPLE SECONDS AND THEN IT SHOULD BE OK
On mine I removed the motor and cleaned the commutator on the armature. A friend found his to be the switch on the door.
Back sliding window on 1995 Toyota 4runner wont open or unlock wont go down when button is pushed help?
Answer . The easy answer is that you can take it apart and do a quick fix to get you by but it will need replacement no matter what. A new one is about a hundred dollars. If all is quiet then the relay for the window motor is bad or even the fuse could be bad.
There is a electrical relay for the rear window which is usually located behind a body panel in the rear of the vehicle. I'm not entirely sure which side. The relay is the first thing to check, I would avoid tearing apart the switch panel or the rear door until you check the relay. Most scrap yards …will probably have one. Without knowing the year of your truck it is hard to determine the exact location of the relay though. ( Full Answer )
My windows won't go up or down it will work but then it will stop for a while on my 95 buick century?
The window motors could be losing power in the 95 Century. Checkthe wiring and switches for any loose connections causing theproblem.

What causes a 1994 buick Lesabre to die going down the highway and then not start up anywhere from 10 minutes to 45 minutes?
Answer . replace the cooling system in the car.. Answer . clogged fuel line. could be stuff in gas tank. when it stops, start taking fuel lines apart!
One possible reason might be the safety link has broken, but still has enough resistance to pull the window down. Eventually it won't even do that. An easy solution is to remove the gear box and fill the safety link area with epoxy glue. Then don't roll the window up while someone has their head out… the window. ( Full Answer )
I had the same problem on my 2000. It seems mine slipped on the studs and would stay in a up position. I simply removed the arms from the studs, ran them a few times so they were properly positioned, and replaced the arms back on in the "home" position. . I had the same problem on my 2002 Buick Ce…ntury and found that it was a broken park tab on the wiper mechanism. We were able to use a small piece of metal to reinforce it. ( Full Answer )
\nBinding window trim. Can you help it up. Silicone spray the window tracks.. test the window switch
The window's motor may be losing power. It helps to hold the windowin place as well as move it, but sometimes it can't provide thepower to lift the weight of the window back up again. If this isthe case, getting the window motors checked and replaced orrepaired is the only solution.
It could be the motor, but it also could be the switch, or the wiring. Start buy taking the switch panal out of the door with the wires connected. Test the wires to see if the switch is supplying power out the back, and into the wires, when the switch is pressed. If it isnt, then its the switch, if …it is, then you can narrow it down even further by testing the connection at the motor. If power is making it to the motor, than the wiring is good, and the motor could be bad. Dont forget to always check your fuses for anything electricly related. This happened in my 98 Riviera. My friend took the switch apart, and cleaned the tiny contacts. Over time, they get a black dust on them and it doesn't work. He said it would last 3 or 4 months, and when it did it again, to replace the switch. I have since replaced the switch. ( Full Answer )
Take door panel off.... Look inside window panel while going up and down,. see what is missing or broken , then replace or fix.
\n. I also have a 92. In my case, it was a clip located on the window itself. I was told I would have to replace the entire window in order to rectify.
There are a couple of reasons why the window won't go back up on a1996 Buick Century. The window may be off track or the window motorhas stopped working.
Why On a 1997 Buick Park Avenue the windshield wipers wont go down when they are shot off but they will shay in the up position?
It's probably equipped with a rain sensor. With them in the down, but not all the way down position and the car running try spraying water on the windshield. The sensor on the back of the inside rear view mirror will detect it and they will wipe automatically. To adjust the sensitivity turn the wash…er control. It's not a variable speed, but rather a sensitivity... how many drops before it wipes. ( Full Answer )

Typically, it's caused by a worn or damaged window regulator motor, but it can also be caused by damaged guides, bad electrical connection or faulty switch. Unfortunately, it's impossible to tell you WHY it isn't working without checking it out in person.
The window goes down easier because gravity is helping. The windowtracks could be dirty or the motor could be weak, causing thetrouble going up.
Check the wires to the window motor. The window motor may have aloose wire or the motor may need to be replaced.
The window regulator has failed. The new one from the dealer will come with a window motor also.
If these are power windows, more information is needed to attempt an accurate answer. Assuming the car is 2 door and both windows are afflicted with the same problem, this is an electrical malfuction of the window circuit. Here are some quick tests and possible solutions. When the windows are down, …will the windows move up at ALL using the master switch (driver's side)? Does the passenger switch move the window at all. If the windows move very little then stop, then move in little increments after that, the window motor is overheating and it's tripping a self resetting circuit breaker. The window slide channels: where the front and back of the window rides in the door, over time dry up and get dirty. This causes additional friction and strains the motor. The circuit breaker may be on the window motor, if so the motor is the cause. If the windows do not more up at all from any switch. Start, by inspecting the fuse panel for ANY blown fuses. Replace the bad fuses and try the window. If no fuses are blown or new ones have no affect. There will be a relay for the windows: a small usually, black cube-like, block with terminals. Some cars have two relays for the windows: one for up, one for down. if the windows go down the down relay is working. So try switching the up and down relays. if the window doesn't go down now but works up. Replace the relay. If these comments can't help you to narrow down the source of the problem, ( Full Answer )
you need to replace the window regulator in the door. some come with a motor some come without. ask your local parts dealer.
If an electric window in a Chevrolet Venture will not go up ordown, it is likely that a fuse is blown. Replacing the fuse couldfix the issue.
you need a window switch bank most likely. Can you get it to go up with the button on the door but not from the front seat? If so, you need to pick up a window switch bank. Common Issue.
Sounds like window regulator. They are expensive. I would check first to make sure window is in the proper regulator slot.
The oil pump supplies the oil to the engine bearings where it is forced from one to the other. That is what creates the oil pressure. The pressure is transmitted to the gauge by way of a sending unit. You need a mechanical gauge to see what the true pressure is so as to determine if the sending unit… is bad. A defective oil filter relief valve will cause a pressure fluctuation. The pressure will increase from an idle as you accelerate. You will need to check and see what normal operating pressure is and at what RPM. ( Full Answer )

regulator in the motor is bad or there is a bad contact on the switch junk yard window motors are cheap
If a power window on an 02 buick regal will not go up or down could it be a fuse or is it a regulator and motor?
First off the regulator and the motor are one in the same, just depends on what you want to call it. If the fuse is ok you might want to pull the panel and test the regulator directly. If the regulator checks ok than check the switch. If you don't know or have someone, let me know.
It can be a broken wire in the hinge area, a bad switch, or simply a bad window regulator. See this post for instructions on how to diagnose the problem:
most any small block GM motor, maybe even a big block but im sure u'll rip that transmission out
i had same problem with my 2003 Taurus on my driver's door. I got a new power window switch for $40. you should check your fuses first.
Any time I've had electric windows not respond to the switches, it has been broken wiring. This was with vehicles at least 8 or 10 years old. So far they wire have all been broken inside the rubber wire path on the driver door. The one the protects where the wires cross from under the dash through t…he door frame and into the door up to the controls. The wiring has gotten old and brittle and the driver door is always used so the wires are being flexed there the most. ( Full Answer )
why am i having trouble with the electric window,s on our toyotasurf especially on the rear window
had same prob with my 96. Take window fuse out and put it back in. It is like a breaker. You probably overloaded it.. Worked for me. Should reset.
How do you get your windows in the back to go down all the way you have no children and they wont be in your car 2007 se Ford Taurus?
I don't believe you can because the bottom of the door is curved around the rear wheel wells
One window, probably the switch or the electric window motor. All windows, probably the fuse or circuit breaker.
The same place the transmission fluid dipstick is. Be sure that you actually need to add fluid or you can cause serious damage to your transmission.
