  1. there are 15 yards of ribbon, and I have 20 boxes, so since I know that one yard is 3ft, I determine that for only 1 box, 3/4 of a yard goes in that box. Now multiply 3/4 by 20, and it gets you 15, so now we're back where we started. But 3/4 = 27, now what is 20 multiplied by 27? 540, but that's useless, so, therefore, the answer is 27.

A moving company offers two sizes of moving trucks. Truck G can fit 20 boxes that measure 1 cubic yard. Truck H is twice as large.Which measurement can be used to determine the amount of boxes that can fit into Truck HResponses?

Truck G can fit 20 boxes that measure 1 cubic yard each. Therefore, it has a total capacity of 20 cubic yards. Truck H is twice as large as Truck G, so its capacity is 2 times 20 cubic yards, or 40 cubic yards. To determine the number of boxes that can fit into Truck H, we need to know the volume of each box in cubic yards. If we assume that all boxes have the same volume as the ones that fit into Truck G (1 cubic yard each), then Truck H can fit 40 boxes. So, the measurement that can be used to determine the amount of boxes that can fit into Truck H is its total capacity in cubic yards.

If they need 250 ribbons, and are making 6 ribbon per yard (36" in a yard divided by 1/6th = 6") then they need 41.666 yards of ribbon. Or....I'd get 42 yards for extra or 126 feet if it comes by the foot.
