Need a DATE to go with the "O" mintmark of the silver dollar. Post new question.
The 1900 Morgan dollars issued from the New Orleans Mint are known to have medium size mintmarks. This is not a recognized variety. The 1900-O Morgan is considered common. AU grade coins currently have values of $35.00-$40.00.
the price of silver right now is 6 times the face value, your quarter is worth about a dollar fifty If your coin is so worn that the rims are gone and the lettering is wearing away, then it's only worth the silver it contains -- currently about $1.50 However, if the rims are complete, it's worth about $4.00 If the word LIBERTY is readable in the headband, then it's worth at least $16.00 And if there's only a very light touch of wear on the coin, it will be worth at least $50.00 Also, if there is an "O" or "S" mintmark on the back (at the bottom), then the values will be higher.
If your coin has been gold plated, it has lost its collector value and would now be considered a novelty item -- value about $10 1900-O and 1901-O are not rare dates for Morgan Dollars. In circulated condition, they're worth about $12 each. Nice uncirculated ones are worth about $35 each.
As of 4/12 a 1898 O Morgan silver dollar in MS-65 condition is worth $238.
The 1884-o silver dollar is worth $20 to $35 circulated and up to $200 uncirculated. The prices are slowly going up every year.
