The base transmission was a 3-speed manual. The 4-speed manual and 3-speed automatic were optional. Both manual transmissions were Muncies and the automatic was the turbo 400.

If you are talking about a 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge, then a 1969 Pontiac Tempest/LeMans or even "regular" GTO can be modifed to look like a GTO Judge and for alot less money. Many people have done this and the cars are known as tribute or clone cars.

The automatic transmission in the 2005-2006 GTO was the Hydramatic 4L65E, as opposed to the 2004 GTO with the Hydramatic 4L60E. The manual transmission was for the 2004-2006 GTO was the Tremec T-56 with M12 gearset.
