In spite of the S mint mark your coin really doesn't have any extra value.
The San Francisco Mint was reactivated to strike cents and nickels for circulation during the late 1960s and early 1970s while Philadelphia and Denver concentrated on replacing higher-denomination silver coins that had been melted for their metal value. So while an S mint coin from that time may seem unusual, it really isn't - in fact, nickel mintages at San Francisco were about at the same level as Denver during that time.
Also, if you check other nickels minted since 1965 you'll see they ALL have the small letters FS either under the fold of Jefferson's coat or next to Monticello - those are simply the initials of Felix Schlag who created the coin's original design.
Only a very high grade Mint State coin would be woth more than 25 cents. NOTE: Coins have Mintmarks not stamps.
The stamp act required all documents to be on stamped paper and have a stamp, which had to be purchased. Passed in 1765.

ANYWHERE!
If a piece of jewerly bears the SN mark stamp one is reading it upside down. The mark stamp actually says NS. NS means that the jewelery is made from gold, silver and nickel, where nickel and silver are the base metal.

Your silver chain contains nickel if it attracts to a magnet. That means the silver alloy is not sterling .925. It may be a lower grade silver alloy containing less pure silver. Or, it may be a silver colored base metal alloy that contains no real silver at all. Look for a quality stamp or hallmark for further verification of quality.
Is that a trade mark stamp ????? of the seller, or dealer...................
That probably means it is the 825 th copy if it is somethin like a store bought necklace. If it is gold, iit means it is fake. ---------------------------------------- Most likely it is .825 grade silver if this ring is silver coloured . Still silver but lower grade than .825 sterling
Also known as a Tramp Stamp or a Bullseye
high grade silver product
You pretty much receive a stamp anywhere you go. No matter where your residency/citizenship is.
10k Edit by Cjulsh 10k is incorrect. 10k jewelry would be stamped 417 which is the amount of gold content. 10k is 41.7% gold. 825 is a lower grade of silver...most silver pieces would have a stamp of 925 which is 92.5% silver. Some pieces will use a lower grade silver 825 or 82.5% silver.
