bad ground wire or not enough ground
The answer to the question is no. If the flywheel is ground or damaged it needs to be replaced.
if the engine has high comprshen it will eat starters
Yes - it's rated for a much higher torque strain, for starters.
i have a 95 Mercury Villager,,it keeps eating Starters,,except its not the Flywheel,, Just found out that the Flywheel has been Reverseing,,, what would cause that to happin...Help...
All automotive starters are located at the point where the engine block meets the transmission. The gears of the starter must be engaged with the teeth on the flywheel when the starter is turned over, the power of the starter spinning turns the flywheel which moves the crank and thus moves the pistons for ignition. so, to answer this question, look around the bellhouseing of your transmission and you'll spot it.
All starters are somewhere near the flywheel or flexplate, as the starter turns the flywheel or flexplate. That is located between the transmission and engine, but not visable. You will find a heavy gauge wire attached to the starter that will directly or indirectly run back to the battery positive terminal.
Just a suggestion Check the flywheel
the same place all starters are located against the flywheel.
it may be that your flywheel is loose, and the starter is jumping the teeth,
There are many different automatic car starters out there. Toyota has one car starter, called the Auto Car Start. It can be purchased and used with many Toyota cars.
yep bad starters but a lot of the trouble is caused by the two part flywheel which has anti shock springs in it if they are gone it will eat starters but worse can damage the gearbox too the best cure if this is the case ford still sell the old type solid flywheel for the new vans and this cures the problem just google flywheel transit and you will find a lot of sites with unhappy ford transit customers but other than that they don't give much other trouble
Automatic car starters can be purchased at your local auto parts stores such as Auto Zone, or even Walmart. You can also purchase these from Sears and Best Buy, in which they will even install it for you.
