Usually when hot? Could be a starter going bad
could be the starter or the solenoid, they arer pron to heating up especially when using headers, peace
Is your battery going? Does it crank slow first think in the morning and is goot the rest of the day? Time for a battery change. If it's happening anytime, clean all the terminals, including the one on the starter and selenoid.
Test battery condition, & terminals. If they check out good, check the starter Thanks. I have had several people tell me it is the starter. Apparently GM solenoids overheat which cause the slow cranking. I will buy a new starter and install an aftermarket heat sheild.
Check battery voltage Check alternator output Could be a weak coil
Yes
replace the starter
Most likely the starter is "dragging" due to worn bushings. When the bushings wear, the starter will "drag" against the interior of the housing and barely spin, causing the battery to drain.
Weak battery, starter solenoid, or starter.
