1984 Chevrolet 350 with a 750 holley carb when i give it fuel from a dead stop it quits The truck idles fine and when running along say 1300 rpm and hit the gas it'll pick up fine any ideas?

Sounds like the carb needs a bigger discharge nozzle and possibly a different cam for the accelerator pump. There are some good books on the subject of tuning a Holley carb. Might want to start with reading what's available on Holley's website.
